Question: Does an employer have the right to remove radios from the work place? This is not a public facility.
Answer: All employers have the right to set reasonable rules and regulations for theworkplace. Since radio music may disturb other workers, customers or evenyour concentration, it would probably be reasonable to have a workplace rule that excludes radios from the work environment.

I am all for music in the work place. The boss has the right to make the rules, however, employees who listen to music I assume are trying to reduce stress.
I am somewhat cynical of the reasons why people are against music in the workplace.
I think the most common reason is "It just feels wrong or unprofessional" like a sense of danger, creating an anticipatory response (especially when the boss walks into the room). It just feels wrong and makes everyone uncomfortable so we turn the radio off, even when there is no real danger. It must be a built in response from our subconsious.
