Speak Up! - View Question #275

    printer friendly version

Question: What is the curfew and what happens if I'm out past that time?

Answer: Curfew times are different in every city. You need to check with your city offices to find out what curfew times and dates are.

    In Phoenix, the curfew is

    10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for kids 15 years old and under, 7 days a week

    12 a.m. Midnight to 5 a.m. for 16 and 17 year olds every night

If you are out after curfew, this is an incorrigible act and you could be arrested and prosecuted. Sometimes the police call the parents to pick up the kids.

To find out more about curfews, you can check the curfew topic in the laws section.

adults do not have curfews because as adults we are legally liable for our actions. If we wreck a car or get caught vandalising a neighbors home we are the ones who must pay the damages. Where as if a minor is caught commiting these offenses the parents of said minor are held financialy responsible.

Hi! i don't think they should have curfews because the parents should choose the time their children are out till!

i think that curfews were put there to help protect us and to reduce the crime by youths..and those are good reasons, but sometimes it is annoying when you have to be home at 11:30...but think about it..there no almost no reason to be out late past midnight every night except for doing illigal stuff
