Question: What law is broken when you toilet paper a house?
Answer: In Arizona, A.R.S. §13-1603 states that if you throw, place, drop or permit to be dropped on public or private property any litter, destructive or injurious material and do not immediately remove it, you can be charged with a misdemeanor (jail time and a fine) or a felony (prison time and a fine) depending upon what was placed on the property. Toilet paper could be considered 'litter' and therefore, toilet papering a house might result in being charged with a crime under this statute. Most states have similar laws - you could call your local police department and ask about the laws in your state.

I don't think toilet papering should be illegal. I mean people can just go into their yards and clean it up the next day, right.

Are you kidding. The laws where I live include a minimum 90 days in JAIL for tping, not including egging. Unfortunately, about a year ago, I got busted and had to serve 120 days for tping and egging a neighbor. So you know what, DON'T TP IF YOU LIVE IN TEXAS. THE POLICE HERE ALLOW US NO FUN OR CHEERY PRANKS. EVERYTHING OF THE SORT HERE IS VANDALISM.

It's legal here in Ohio. As long as we don't ruin any property, then we're fine. If we get caught, they just tell our parents. If we don't, its fine because we didn't break any laws.
