    Question: How long has a teenager ever been in jail?

    Answer: This depends on what they have been put in jail for. If a juvenile is found guilty in juvenile court they could be locked up until they are 18. Sometimes juveniles face charges in an adult court because of the seriousness of the crime. They are kept in sections of the jails with the other kids 17 and younger. When a juvenile is tried in adult court, he or she gets the same punishment that an adult receives.

    that's not right, the longest any juvenile can be held in jail is no longer than the age of 18. once they are 18 they are considered an adult and are no longer a juvenile. yes they can be held in jail but are not considered a juvenile deliquent.
