Question: Can a parent spank their kid at any age before 18 years old? I don't mean beat the kid just spank them?
Answer: Arizona law does provide that parents and persons acting as parents, including school personnel, may use corporal punishment (spanking). The punishment must be reasonable and not excessive.
In Arizona a child is anyone under the age of 18, and until you are 18, you are under the care, custody and control of your parent or legal guardian.
The Arizona Legislature passed a new law that went into effect on August 12, 2005 that allows minors to be emancipated. However, emancipation is a very difficult process that few are eligible for. See the LawForKids.org Laws page for more information.

In this situation the spanking was appropriate. Spankings are a useful parental tool, along with many other tools of course. The traditional way of spanking was on the bare bottom. I was spanked bare bottom as a child and I spank my children in the same manner(bare botttom with a paddle). A mother baring their child's rear for disciplinary procedures is not sexual abuse. Rather it is the safes and effective method. No wonderful it was the traditional method!

I hadn't gotten a spanking in 2 years, but mom took me to the back porch, pulled down my shorts and panties and she made me bend over and I got about 10 spankings. I was upset, but I wont talk to her like that ever again.

hi i think the law sucks ive been from foster career 2 foster career since about the age of 3 i was first spanket at the age of 4 my granpa got druck and i asket him 2 sit down he refused so i went 2 help him he put me over hes knee and spanket me it hurt and i was tacking in 2 care then about 2 years later the son of the careers did it 2 me agen so i ran off and i have been spanket since i was really young and it ant hurt me i just dont lke it going 2 school with frends that never have been just macks u uneasy but i guess its just somethink about growing up skiny buts hurt more so ppl will ju
