    Question: How many judges have been impeached by the US House of Representatives?

    Answer: Since 1797 the House of Representatives has impeached sixteen federal officials. These include two presidents, a cabinet member, a senator, a justice of the Supreme Court, and eleven federal judges. Of those, the Senate has convicted and removed seven, all of them judges.

    A lifetime term is best for judges. Impeachment works. We should not go to an election-based federal judges system.

    Judges are individuals and not intitled to immunity for acts committed aginst it's citizens. In reviewing the impeachment of a judge, one has to examine all the facts. State Judges and Commissioner's are subject to the laws of the state, to include their state constitution and the constitution of the United States. They can be removed or impeached. This however, must cause some headaches for legislation and litigation against judges who have acted wrong.
