Question: What is the curfew in Tucson, Arizona?

Answer: In Tucson, Arizona curfew is 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for youth under the age of 16. For those between 16 and 17 years of age the curfew is midnight to 5 a.m. In South Tucson, youths under 18 must be off the streets from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Further, youths younger than 16 cannot 'remain, loiter or cruise in any vehicle' in the county or its unincorporated areas between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The same law applies to 16- and 17-year-olds, between midnight and 5 a.m.

The fine for a curfew violation is $25 for the first violation, up to $50 for the second violation, and up to $75 for the third violation.

I am really glad that I came and looked up the curfew online. A few weeks ago, my friend and I were sitting a little bit up the road from my house (less than 1/2 mile). We were not getting into trouble, just hanging out. Then around ten forty five, a policemen came and asked for both of our id's. He went into his cop car for about fifteen minutes, then came out at eleven o'clock and told me i was out past curfew. Well first of all, I am 17. This means that my curfew is 12. Why would he waste my time, and then lie to me about my curfew? I was extremely upset by this whole situation. NOT FAIR.

the thing that juveniles* have to understand is the police are not out to get you, they are out to protect you. they dont make the laws they just use discretion while enforcing them, all a police officer asks of you is to respect the SPIRIT of the law. if you respect the SPIRIT of the law and not the LETTER of the law, it still shows that you respect your local authorities

I personally don't really mind it. If the law thinks that that's what needs to be employed, then so be it. All you can really do is deal with it. And besides, it's only like, 5 hours anyway. Are you really losing that much? Do you really need to go to that party and get wasted or drive around aimlessly with your friends? No. Kids should be at home, sleeping then. And if you do violate the cufew, so what if you have to pay $25? It's really not that much. So quit your complaining. It's only a couple years
