Question: What is the punishment for reckless driving and six counts of public endangerment?

Answer: Reckless driving is a class 2 misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 4 months in jail, up to 2 years probation, and a fine of up to $750.00. In addition, your driving privileges could be suspended for up to 90 days. If you have a prior conviction for negligent homicide, manslaughter, or a DUI, reckless driving becomes a class 1 misdemeanor and you must serve at least 20 days in jail before you are eligible for probation, you may be fined up to $2500.00, and your drivers license will be revoked.

Endangerment is a class 1 misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 6 months in jail, up to 3 years probation, and a fine of up to $2500.00. However, if you endangered someone to the point there was a substantial risk of death, the crime becomes a class 6 felony, which is punishable by up to 1.5 years in prison, up to 3 years probation, and a fine of up to $150,000.00, yes, that's $150,000.00.

Whoa. I just came home from driving on an expressway near Chicago. I was pulled over doing just over 100mph and the office let me off without a ticket or reckless driving, on the condition my passenger drive (she's 16 as well). I still cannot believe it. I realize it's not worht it now.. hope this affects someone out there.

Help, I was tickteted at 90 in 65. I appeared in court but when I did the judge told me that I could get jail time. So I am getting a lawyer and my court date is next month. I have had a perfect driving record for 4 years and have +4 merit points on my license. I am a full time student and worry that going to jail will ruin my life. I will have to quit school and everything. If anyone has had a similar experience I would appreciate it.

I was stopped for speeding 91 in a 65-70 miles an hout zone. The officer gave me a ticket, but indicated that i could either pay for it, or appear in court. Since this ticket was issued in a different state, I decided to pay it. A few months later I got a notice from the court stating that my money order was returned. The ticket was upgraded to a misdemeanor. They told me to contact yet another court. I tried to contact the court at the number provided , but it turned out to be the incorrect number. I read the ticket carefully and it states that if it is marked complaint and summons, i

I was caught for reckless endarngerment for going 95 in 55mph zone and it cost me $1000.00 in fines, 6 month suspended lisence, 5 days in jail and 1 year probation. I guess that is just about as bad as it could get. I was pulled over the day after Christmas and wanted to get home quickly after work. This experience has changed my life and I hate it. It was not worth it and I definitely will never speed again. However, the punishment was quite harsh. For being 19 and having this been by far the worst judgement I have made my whole life they, acted as though I were a murderer. I am really
