    Question:

Are motorized skateboards illegal or is anything being done to make them illegal?

    Answer:

Motorized skateboard use is covered by city laws. For example, in Tempe, the law states that no child under the age of 14 can operated a motorized skateboard. (Section 19-23). Tempe City codes also state that no person other than the owner of the motorized skateboard is authorized to ride it and that no passengers are allowed on it. To be sure, check with your local police department to find out about laws concerning motorized skateboards in your community.

I have riden a Goped® before and they are perfectly safe if you arent being weird or unsafe or anything of that nature. If Gopeds® are illegal they should just make bikes illegal as well because both of them have the same cautions! Just stop at the stop sighns and whatch out for cars, its all the same deal. I hope my point helped you make your final decision thanks bye.

I get stopped all the time and just recently got a ticket for "driving without a valid FL driver's license." If found guilty in court, they could punish me by not letting me get my restricted license for up to a year later than permitted. Also the cop said he could arrest my mother for reckless endangerment of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. We have hired an attorney for the ticket. FYI, ticket is a criminal not traffic citation. Beware!! Davie/Weston FL

the police does have a point in making sure you dont trik out your scooter.to be honest i broke that law.i put in over $500 because i race in team meyer.and it is risky for both getting cought or falling off.but all you have to do is drive safely and dont think you are the best just because you have a Goped®.i can say this because until the day i broke 3 of my ribs going over 35mph i on a turn realized that cops do have a point to keep your scooter stock.the best motor to cruize in is a G23LH.i wreked on an G23ORC. i tought i was the cool kid aroung my hood until i fell for showing off.
