    printer friendly version

Question: Is it true once you become pregnant you are emancipated?

Answer: You must be sixteen or seventeen-years-old to apply for emancipation. You have to be a resident of Arizona and be able to prove that you can support yourself. The court will give you information about the risks and consequences of being emancipated as well as your rights and obligations as an emancipated minor. You cannot apply for emancipation if you are a ward of the court or in the custody of a state agency.

I have the same problem. I myself have a 4 month baby boy in witch I am able to take care of my girlfriend and baby.We would both be working and we do have a plan who will be watching the baby.It isn't that hard to take care of my family. We would have our own place to stay. This sucks.

Okay well this is stupid. I am 15 years old and pregnant and me and my boyfriend do plan on keeping our baby and i cant even leave my house. I will have the right over another life i will make all the decsions for our new baby girl Raigen and i will say what she can and cant do but i still have to have parents do that for myself. I dont get it?? It just doesnt make any since at all. If i am capable of takeing care of Raigen than i should be able to take care of myself. That law is stupid and just cases problems for anyone who is in the same situation as i am.

I live in MO and was told that once you are 17 that you can do whatever you want more or less even though if you get into legal trouble your parents are still responsible for you. Can you shed some light on this for me?

Hi. I'm sorry it isn't going so good. I hope it all works out for you. In my case, I'm 18 and living in my boyfriends house. I am still in high school, my mother wants nothing to do with me. I was wondering because people tell me, if I am 18 am I emancipated or not. If I am, why is she still getting chold support from my father. I was asking you because you are going through with the emansipation. Please help me.

I am due on November 7, 2003. My boyfriend and I want to get a place but I don't turn 18 until July. Him and his dad have told me that in the state of Oregon if you are 17 and pregnant you are legally emancipated. I have tried to look it up on the internet and can't find anything about it. If anyone can help me out with this please email me Thank you much Nikita
