Question: I live in Arizona, is there no possibility of me requesting legal emancipation without parental consent?
Answer: Read more about Emancipation in the Laws section of this website.
Arizona law makes your parents responsible for your well-being until you turn 18 years old.
The only exceptions to this are if you are legally married (if you are under 18, parents must approve of you being married) or join the military (parents must usually give their approval if you join the military before you are 18).
In cases where parents are not providing for your well-being (like cases of abuse or neglect), the state government can sever a parent's rights. This means that due to evidence of abuse or neglect of a child, the state declares that a parent is not fufilling their legal responsibility to provide for a child's well-being. In cases such as this, a parent's rights over a child may be severed.
This is not emancipation though, as the child is taken care of by the Arizona foster care system until they are 18.

im 15 an will be 16 in january. i got in a fight with my dad the day before i was suppose to get my permit an now i have to wait a month. this weekend i babysat for a neighbor an went to vegas since i did this i have 2 more months to wait. my dad makes me bebysit evey day, im not allowed to get a job, an cant hang out with friends! we fight on a daliy bases. he told me that i cant have a life until im 18 an he kicks me out. What can i do????

ok... my dad died last year and i was living with my stepmom because my mother was encarcerated. my mother got released and she has been a drug addict ever since i can remember.. my dad was the only person i ever really lived with. and now mym mom is making me stay with her at my grandmas house until she can make the money to move out. and she plans to take me with her. i would really hate to be forced to live with this woman whom i dont really know and who has never really been my mom. i want to get emancepated.. can i?

I have a job I could support myself, but my resurch shows that Really the only way for me to get away from him is to get married, but i need parental concent. if you have any suggestions please help me. i don't know how much longer i can take being a prisoner in my own home.
