Question: What are the consequences if I leave home before I turn 18 years old?
Answer: If a person under 18 leaves home without permission from a parent or legal guardian, he or she can be prosecuted as an incorrigible child (A.R.S. § 8-201(15)(c)). Some of the potential consequences of being found incorrigible include being fined, be placed on probation, and being ordered to do community service. The specific charges and consequences are left up to the officer of the court.

My mom and stepdad treats me like I am the worst child. They try to keep me in the house and try to push my friends away. But here it is I'm a bannor role student, in many church functions, never skiped school in a day in my life, I don't drink, smoke, or sleep around, I don't sneak out or do anything that is really bad. I'm tired of trying to please them when all they do is put me down. I tried talking to them but all they do is block me out and say I'm never going to make it if I keep talking back. Is this a good reason to take my parents to family court to be removed out this hom

My fiance is 16 and we have a baby on the way. We want to go back to Ohio to live with my family. Her mother isnt abusive but she is very neglectful. My fiance even got a kidney infection and had to go to the hospital for three days because her mother wouldnt take her to the hospital when my fiance needed to go. Her mother even has a record. If we move back to Ohio can the mother file kidnapping charges or take my fiance and child away from me?
