Question: What rights do parents have when a child turns 17?

Answer: A child is considered a minor in Arizona until their 18th birthday. That means that any time between birth and the day someone turns 18, they are considered a child for purposes of Arizona law. Children are in the care of the parents until they become adults, meaning parents make decisions about their care until they become adults.

Children can not enter into contracts, make legal decisions, or vote. Although there are some things that begin to change as you get older, for example, being able to earn a driver's license, you are still considered a child in the eyes of the law until you turn 18.

I just turned 17 and my boyfriend asked me to marrie him and move out to live w/ him. well i told my mom to ask if i can move out w/ him, and the cops said that if your 17 and still in school u CAN NOT move out. And if you try to run away u will be brought back! Trust me i've tryed and it didn't work. so the only thing we can do now is wait untill i'm 18.Take some advice from me don't try to run away because in the end it wont be worth all the trouble. Don't get me wrong i love my boyfriendand all but, gettin in trouble and not gettin to see or talk to him untill ur 18 Think it through!!!!!

i do belelieve that at the age of 16 you should be allowed to move out on your own but only if you are able to support yourself and not depind on some one else because thats what living on your own is all about, not being a depindent but being indepindent.
