    printer friendly version

Question: If driving with a permit alone and are pulled over what are the possible concerns?

Answer: A Learner's Permit is not a license to drive a car. It is a special permit that allows you to drive a car on the road only for the purpose of learning to drive, and you must have a licensed driver with you at all times.

The point of a Learner's Permit is to give you an opportunity to learn to drive, with supervision from someone with a license.

If you were to be caught driving without supervision, you will first be cited for driving without a license just as anyone else would that is driving without a license. In addition, it is likely that you will not be allowed to obtain a Driver's License at all for some period of time as punishment for breaking the law. The period of time until you could get a License would depend on the circumstances, but will probably be until you turn eighteen year's old.

Right now I don't have my permit, but I'm willing to wait as long as it takes. If you drive without a liscense and then wonder why you were busted. It was because you were irresponsible, duh!!! So quit whining and wait like the rest of us.
