    Question:

Are motorized skateboards illegal or is anything being done to make them illegal?

    Answer:

Motorized skateboard use is covered by city laws. For example, in Tempe, the law states that no child under the age of 14 can operated a motorized skateboard. (Section 19-23). Tempe City codes also state that no person other than the owner of the motorized skateboard is authorized to ride it and that no passengers are allowed on it. To be sure, check with your local police department to find out about laws concerning motorized skateboards in your community.

i think its stupid to have them illegal. kids should have the right to ride them as long as their not driving like an idiot. id like to see all those cops and old people ride a bike every where thats what we have to do. its not fare that we have to fallow the law and pay a portion of our job income to tax but cant ride a moterized scooter that goes 15 mph. im sick of not being able to have any fun. i saved my money for a scooter and then 7 days after i got it the cops pull me over and tell me not to ride it.
