Question: Why don't kids have the right to carry guns?

    Answer:

Laws are set to protect kids and adults when dangerous instruments are involved. This applies to driving a car as well as to possession of guns. In Arizona, the law states that kids under the age of 18 are not allowed to carry guns.(A.R.S. § 13-3111). This law also provides some exceptions where kids are allowed to have and use a gun under certain restricted conditions.

For example, a kid can carry a gun if he or she is with a parent, grandparent, qualified hunter safety instructor, or qualified firearms safety instructor as long as there is permission from a parent or guardian. When involved in lawful hunting or shooting events or marksmanship practice, kids between the ages of 14 and 18 are allowed to be in possession of a firearm.(A.R.S. § 13-3111). Because there are many exceptions and details in this statute, you may want to read the law or consult a gun expert or lawyer before actually possessing a firearm.

Ok i am 16 i AM allowed to carry a gun with me as long as it is open and not concealed. Teens should have the right to carry guns (and i think we do!) as long as we have them open and not concealed.

wow, ok lets get somthing strait. kids should and never be able to carry guns. Guns are not made as a toy for kids to carry around and point and act like there shooting people. If some adults can not handle guns why do you think kids would be ok to carry them?!? Just some food for thought. another note on the guy who lets his kid carry a gun at age 11... people are looking at you most likely because they think your a bad father. which you are if your leting him in public.

There are circumstances where kids should be allowed to carry, not concealed... Kids involved in shooting sports and hunting should have rights also. Have them take a safety course, never carry a loaded guns, etc.

t from AL said: "i think that kids should have guns to defend themselves." From what? Just bullying? If you honestly think that'll make things alot more peacful, you're mistaken. Alot more kids WILL die. Remember Columbine? Two kids just snapped and got machine guns, which were easily obtained and killed quite a number of kids, then taking each other out. I'd perfer to get mugged in school by brute strength, not at gunpoint. Guns in school is the last thing I want to be afraid about.
