    printer friendly version

Question: Is it possible to get married without parents' consent?

Answer: In Arizona, anyone under the age of 18 needs to have the consent of the parent or guardian that has custody over them in order to get married. See A.R.S. § 25-102. Anyone under the age of 16 also needs the approval of any superior court judge. Although no blood tests or waiting periods are required for marriage, there must be a license and a ceremony. A marriage license must be obtained from the Clerk of the Superior Court.

Wassup yall? I'm 15 and I'm in love with a 17 year old guy. To me if your and your spouse are in love then you should stick 2-gether no matter what no body say. True love only come once. Puppy love can be any time. So for all of you that's in love follow your heart and stay happy.

I believe in love and I've been in crazy love before so I know exactly how it feels, but if you are under 25, you're probably too young to get married. If you are under 18, then you are DEFINITELY too young. The laws aren't there to make your life more complicated, they're there to protect you. If you meet someone that you must absolutely spend the rest of your life with, then why not wait a bit? If you're 15 years old then what's the big deal in waiting a few years? You planned on spending the rest of your life with this person anyways right? Don't complicate your life so early on, it's sad.
