Question: My mom filed charges against someone for sexual conduct with a minor. Now she wants to drop the charges is she allowed to do that?
Answer: No. Once a crime has been brought to the attention of law enforcement authorities (police and/or prosecutor) it is the decision (and obligation) of the authorities whether or not to proceed with the case. Your mother may not wish to be involved with the proceedings, but if the authorities need her testimony she will be subpoenaed.

I think anyone who is 18 years of age or older, that participates in sexual acts with any minor who is willing or not, should know better and be ready to face the consequences when they get caught, they know the law, They're not stupid. I also think the minors who agree to these acts should know better also, If they care anything about the older person they shouldn't agree to put them in that situation, they can wait.
