    Question:

Can I operate a motorized skateboard at age 14?

    Answer:

Motorized skateboard use is covered by city laws. In general, city laws require motorized skateboard riders to be at least 14 years old, follow traffic signs and rules and wear a helmet while riding it. See a sample of motorized skateboard laws in the laws section of this website. To be sure, check with your local police department to find out about laws concerning motorized skateboards in your community.

I live in marina CA, and the law is that you should be 16 to ride and the police are always puling me and my frieds over for riding. It seems if the cops dont have anything else to do the mess with people on Gopeds®. I atleast try to ride in open carlots if i want to be safe but they will still get you for the noise. You would think it was loud and anoing if you dint have one but if you did you would not think that.

I have a 12 year old who wants a Goped®. I ride motorcycles and although I think the inherent design of Gopeds® makes them unusually dangerous, I might let him have one if it weren't for the obnoxious sound that disturbs the neighbors. I have a kid across the street (and his buddies that live cl;ose by) that is totally annoying on his. I've tried to talk to him and it doen't make any difference. Same with his parents who don't give a crap about how much their kid disturbs the neighborhood. Now I think I'll even persue getting them banned in our community just because kids riding them are
