Question: What are the requirements to become President?

Answer: The United States Constitution outlines the requirements for President in Article 2. This article of the U.S. Constitution also outlines the many powers of the President and Executive branch of government.

Section 1 of Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution states that a President must:

    • be a natural born citizen of the united States
    • be at least 35 years old
    • have lived in the U.S. for at least 14 years

In addition, the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that a President may not serve more than 2 terms of 4 years each, even if they have only served as President for 2 or more years of one of those terms.

i hate that Obama is our new president he is trying to take rights away from me. like taking my guns. he is also letting people take money from me where lazy people can make money. and it is wrong to do that because people should work for their own money it is in the bible and it is the right thing to do.

FYI...just a little history for those of you who do not wish to read...Hawaii IS A PART OF THE US...The state was admitted to the Union on August 21, 1959, making it the 50th state. Barack Obama was born August 4, 1961...for those of you who also do not like to count, that would be approximately 2 years after Hawaii became a US state. Now find something else to whine about please...

Even if he WASN'T born in the US, he still could be president, he is a naturalized citizen due to his mother being an American. Learn more before you speak.

Obama may have won, but the look for the GOP to steal the office from under his feet in 2012, with names like Bobby Jindal, LA Gov or Huckabee. I have served and I know he will not be well liked amongst the military. We'll just have to see with in the next yr, where we are then. Obama may do good for economy, but he will be purely weak as for national defense. I do wish him well on his presidency, but he will face an extremely fierce opponent in 2012 in the GOP, whoever that may be.
