Speak Up! - View Question #435 |
printer friendly version
Question: Does graduating from high school give a minor more rights?
Answer: The high school diploma in and of itself does not give you any more rights. However, graduating from high school can open up many opportunities. For instance, many jobs require that you have a high school diploma. Recently, employers have been showing a strong preference for the high school diploma over the GED. This includes the armed services. In Arizona you can drop out of school at age 16, but if you are on probation with either the juvenile or adult courts, you can be required to attend school.

I dont think it should matter. as long as you can pass the test. which are the same ones you get ion HS. so i think a GED should be just as good as a HS diplomas
