Question: What's the maximum size of a knife that you can carry to school?

Answer: All public schools have rules that prohibit students from possessing weapons at school. A knife is considered to be a weapon, but some schools have created an exception for a folding knife with a blade length of two and one-half inches or less. Other schools prohibit knives of any length.

The disciplinary consequences of violating a school's weapon policy can be very severe, including mandatory expulsion from school. Therefore, a student who routinely carries a pocket knife should check the student handbook or the district policy on weapons before bringing a knife to school.

i think that kids over the age of 14 should be able to carry knives to schools because if you think about it no one will want to mess with a person with a knife so everyone is cool with each other. Just like in Texas civilians are allowed to carry guns and there is barely any crime if any.

I think that students shouldnt be able to carry any sorts of weapons but there are still those situations when the child might feel threathend about something and needs to protect him or herself.. i think that there should be an exception because i just recently got arrested for having a knife in school but i was only using it to protect myself agianst a group of bad students i realize i shouldnt of done that and told a teacher or someone who could of helped but i didnt choose that decision and i noe its my mistake but students all have rights to explain themselves before being accused

Personally i think that if we all could carry a knife on us at school then everyone would be in for a huge mishap one day. if someone gets into a fight and pulls a knife then his homies would jump in and then your homies would jump in and everyone would be armed and slicing at anyone in the fight.work purposes or not, everyone, everyday would be at a huge risk of injury.it would be cool if only you could carry that one knife, but it aint gonna happen. sorry, its true.in short, LEAVE YOUR KNIFES AT HOME.
