Speak Up! - View Question #502

    printer friendly version

Question: Is there a fine for a minor to buy alcohol?

Answer: A minor who buys alcohol is guilty of either a class 1 or class 3 misdemeanor, depending on how he/she was able to convince the seller to give him/her the alcohol.

In addition to a fine of up to $500.00 plus surcharges, the court could also suspend or restrict your driving privileges, order you to perform community service, order you to go to counseling, and, probably worst of all, your parents are required to appear at court with you!

Try looking up the statistics of alcohol related deseases due to alcohol consumption such as liver disease and liver cancer, ulcers, etc. Is consumption so important that although you may be lucky enough to not kill someone else you will be killing yourself and destroying your future!!!

In all of Europe the drinking age is like 5 years old, and they seem to be doing alright. Old people in Spain aren't being killed by kids due to the lack of alcohol posession and consumption laws.

I do not think teenagers should drink because little kids are our future i do not want no drank taking care of me and i die because of the teens. Nobody should actully drink any ways. After seeing people die by drinking and driving they still wanna do it. Maybe if people think more than actully do with out thinking this would be a better world
