Question: Is smoking weed (marijuana) legal in some States?

Answer: No. Every State, from Alabama, Colorado, Kentucky to Vermont, including Arizona and every State in between, has enacted various criminal penalties for the possession, use, cultivation, transportation and distribution, of marijuana, including even the smallest of quantities.

Arizona punishes possession of amounts less than two pounds as a class six felony with fines between $750 and $150,000 and jail or prison time from six months to a year and a half.

A few States have decriminalized marijuana use and possession in small amounts (N. Carolina and California for example) but even there, its still illegal.

At the end of working a hard day and going to school, I think that I should get to do what I want to. More people die from cigs, and drunk driving than weed. I think that it's just one more way that the gov. has us by . I think that if I have to pay the goverment taxes for war and all the other crud in this country that I don't agree with, i think that the federal government should just have to deal with it. Just like I do!! I truely belive that they should put a tax on it so we can buy it like cigs. This country was founded for the people not for the gov.

It's absurd that marijuana is illegal...ofcourse it should legal, in ALL states. Alcohol kills more people than marijuana does each and every year. Marijuana is also much less addictive than cocaine, alcohol, and tobbaco, which is proved by anecdotal evidence. Marijuana also helps with many medical symptoms caused by diseases such as AIDS, Glaucoma, Epilepsy, and Cancer. Imagine how many thousands of people can be helped if we just legalize marijuana.

the only reason weed is illegal and i say "ONLY" reason its illegal is because they cannot put a tax on it. Its a herb plant, the same thing as basil, aregano. its all the same thing so why not make it legal. tell me that one
