I'm 17 and I have been wanting to get an emancipation for the past two years of mylife. I want to know what steps I need to take to do so. Could you let me know where I need to go on the Internet in order to find out any steps I need to take to get this done? I'd prefer to do it without having to go infront of a judge; instead I'd like to be able to sign some papers and that's the end of the story. I know if I have to go to court my mom would do whatever it took in order to keep me home because of the fact I'm still in high school. Also I was woundering if my mom brought up the fact I'm invove

I completely agree with that, teens need a place to turn to when they don't have the best lives/parents. They need real help and not some thing that will dramatize the problem, make it worse and not solve anything. They need a place where they can be helped to live a full life and grow into mature adults.

I live with my stepmother and my father. After my mom died my stepmother suggested that I call her mother. Whenever my dad would go somewhere she would make me do everything for nothing. She told me that she wishes that I was never a part of her family and she chokes me. She always put her nails right in my throat. The other day I fought her back. I have decided to move as soon as I'm 17.

My dad is a great guy and we were real close but after so much verbal and mental abuse i left home. I'll be 17 soon and I have problems because of the way i was treated but no matter what i went threw i still love my mom even though see was the one hurting me but i think someone needs to make it so teens who have nobody to turn to can get help and not be abanded and wonder if there going to make it threw the next day or not. the only help teens do get is help that just makes the situation worse. we need real help!
