Question: How old do I have to be to choose who I live with?
Answer: The judge makes the final decision in custody cases. Sometimes the judge will ask to talk to the kids and sometimes the parents request that the judge talk to the children involved. Usually, if a judge decides that a child should live with just one parent, the judge will order visits with the other parent.

My mother has legal custody of me. From 2002 thru 2004 I lived with my dad. I decided to move back with my mother in Jan. 2004. I have realized that living with my father was best for me, as he made me attend school daily and my mother is never home to help guide me through school or make meals like "real" moms do. She has a boyfriend whom she does drugs with, and my dad and his girlfriend are hard working people who are involved in school activities with her kids. My dads girlfriend has dinner on the table for the family every night! could I go back to my dads if my mom says no?

My parents got divorced when I was 2 and I have lived with my mom since then. But my brother has lived with my dad since they got divorced. So now that I am 16 and my brother is 18. I decided to go and live with my dad, but my mom just wont let me go. She comes up to my school at least 4 times a week , and leaves me notes and other things. All they do is just make me cry. So she even came on my pre sat test, which all she did was make me cry. I really don't know wat to do. Please help!!!!!! Stephen
