Question: Can my parents Force me to go to Church ? I am Atheist.

Answer: It all depends on your age or capacity. If you are a child or have been found to be incompetent, then yes, the parents of a minor child or guardian of an incompetent person can force the child or incompetent person to go to church (or anywhere else within reason).

For practical purposes, the Constitution (First Amendment), protects your right to BELIEVE anything you want to BELIEVE, regardless of every other factor. So, even if forced to attend a ceremony you don't believe in, your freedom of belief is protected.

You are not given rights - you take them. My advice to any minors out there who are forced to go to church against your will, is this: help yourself to the right not to go, by any means you feel are necessary. Good luck.

Why is it that you sound like not being Christian is a horrible thing? There are other religions, other ideals than flat out Christianity, I don't understand why it is that people feel this need to push their beliefs on other people, even though they have no right. That is what started a lot of conflicts in history, people believing their faith was more important than anyone else and forcing it on the unwilling. We could have avoided so many wars if people would just keep their belief system to themselves! Music is your right to listen to, even if someone else may not like it, it's part of who

Don't take the law too seriously-- It can be right or wrong. Why? Because it was made by people, and as we all know people are never perfect. As for church, do what you like-- it all depends on how close-minded your parents are :)

"On the subject of music, several studies have been done that resulted in discovering a relationship between music and deviuant behavior. this is one of the reasons for most music haing ratings. This allows your parents to see what type of music it is before they let you listen to it. In the long run, they are just trying to protect you from harmful lyrics." Correlation isn't the same thing as causation, buddy. There's never been any proven link between music and "deviuant behavior".

I went to a catholic primary school for 7 years and the only thing religion has taught me is that it is the stupidest and most immature thing in the world. The belief that the bible/talmut/qu'ran is infallable is immature and just downright stupid. It was written by man who are infallable. I congratulate you on your decision not to go to church. Kudos to you.
