Question: I am 18 and still enrolled in high school, can my parents legally kick me out of the house?
Answer: Yes. Once you have turned 18 years old, you are legally an adult and your parents no longer have a legal obligation to care for you.
The converse is true as well: once you are 18, you have the legal ability to make decisions for yourself.
The only exception to this is if you were legally incapacitated in some way. For example, if you were judged by a court to be incapable of making decisions for yourself. In that (somewhat rare case) your parents could be appointed as guardians for you after the age of 18 and would still have to provide for you.

Why don't the kids just follow the rules before it gets to the point that they are facing real problems. Parents don't want their kids out, they want behaviors to stop. If a child is hell bent on destroying their lives, it is really on them...not the parents

I was born and raised on virginia near the dc. area. i lived their my whole life when my mother decided to move to vermont. i had a great life going for me, good grades, popular, the best of friends you could ever ask for. then we go to vermont and they werent too accepting. finally i find a girl and her family helps me with my financial problems and they basically help take care of me. my family thinks i'm becoming too attached. at my new school i finally begin to get some friends, i make varsity basketball, the coaches love me, and i even start football as a senior for the school.
