Question: If you are caught with a loud car stereo disturbing the peace, what is the penalty?
Answer: Disturbing the peace is usually a misdemeanor, which means you can be fined up to several thousand dollars and be placed in jail for several months. The penalties vary by state. Laws about loud music and disturbing the peace are usually city ordinances. For example, the City of Dearborn Heights Ordinance No. H-63-6 [2.5] in Michigan makes it unlawful to make or assist in making any noise, disturbance, trouble or improper diversion, or any rout or riot, by which the peace and good order of the city are disturbed. You could find out what your city's laws about car stereos and the penalties by calling the public information office of your local city.

Really, do you realize how stupid and childish that sounds. I hate to break this to you but no you cannot do whatever you want. That's just the way it is, no matter how much you whine about it. Driving around with your bass speakers booming does not make you cool, it makes you annoying. Now turn down your stereo and try to think of others instead of being selfish and only thinking of your own petty little wants.

I think that's a good thing to do, because if your ear is already not hearing that good and the car next to you is shaking like an earthquake you should pay a fine. The deaf person is already almost deaf so u shouldn't just blow the music up for every1 to hear. becasue some ppl don't want to or cna't hear.

People--kids included--have the right to express themselves. They even have the right to irritate other people. That is the essence of free expression. If we could only say things that everyone agreed with, would that be free speech? If you have one of these stupid tickets talk to an attorney. Many attorneys will take a consitutional case for a reduced fee. Or demand that the court appoint an attorney to represent you. Exercise your rights!
