Question: Are there laws concerning how many hours of homework a school is allowed to assign?

Answer: No. There are no laws that regulate how much homework can be assigned. But many school districts have policies that set guidelines for homework based on grade level. A student or parent concerned about homework should ask the school principal if the school district has guidelines.

You have the totally wrong attitude. I'm not sayin you should be all happy and love homework so much that you just wanta kiss it. I hate homework too. But you should just sit down and do your homework and get it done with, instead of sittin around and think about all the things you could be doin. If you just do your homework you'll have more time to do those things anyway.

What's the point of school, when all you do is sit and do nothing but listen to teachers talk... Why do we need to take English when we use it all the time. Well I would have thought it was obvious.

Give it a few years, guys. When you start getting into more advanced subjects, you'll see that you couldn't possibly learn without homework. The amount of time the teacher gets to lecture about something in class is not enough time to teach you everything you need to know on a subject. When you reach college, outside reading becomes as important--if not more so--then lecture. The idea of making homework illegal is absurd, and would be more detrimental to your education than you can imagine. If you don't feel like you need to do the homework, then don't, but face the consequences. If you

You know what? If you can't even spell attention correctly, you need some Homework! Do you really think teacher's enjoy all the homework they give out? They have to do 25 times as much as all of you because she has to grade it! There must be a reason for all this homework then....The reason is because many people need more work on the lesson they just learned to get it down. Homework also gets you to become more familar with the concept.
