    printer friendly version

    Question: What crimes can get the death penalty?

    Answer: In Arizona the only crime that gets the death penalty is First Degree Murder.

    There are two types of first degree murder;

    1) premeditated murder, and

    2) felony murder, which is a death which occurs while the accused is committing another offense, including sexual conduct with a minor, sexual assault (rape), child molest, certain drug offenses, kidnapping, burglary, arson, robbery, escape, child abuse, unlawful flight from law enforcement. Basically if you are in the process of committing one of the above crimes, and you cause the death of a person, you are guilty of first degree murder, for which you could receive the death penalty.

    How can people think a life for a life? First off why would people kill in the firt place? Something could of happened to them some where through out their lives that prevented them to kill. And a life for a life that just says ( for example) person A: killer, Person B: victom, person C:police. Now if person A kills person B and person C killed person A for killing person B wouldn't some one now have to kill person C? And so forth on and on. some one is killing a killer which makes that person a killer. So now some one has to kill that person. Think about it a life for a life makes no sence.

    What is wrong with you?! I am so against the fact of the death penalty and yet you say they should preety much lie tho the judge and the other people that would be in the court room to be back out in the streets to kill again. Are you like out of your mind! They should put them in prison untill they the day they die. They should give them a certain amount of visitation time. They should do hard labor on the prison land. Only have a limitted time to use the phone. And their is so0o0o much more you couyld do then to kill some one. You should have a punishment not be killed. For killing.

    I think that people that murder others should be sentenced to Death but what about the child molesters they should spend more time in prison than 10-15 years.

    But rape and murder are two different concepts. If the rape results in murder, then its murder. I think it should be life for a life. Rape should result in inprisonment.

    i think that the death penalty should be abolished because if we are murdering murderers, how do we punish rapists?
