Question: Are there laws concerning how many hours of homework a school is allowed to assign?

Answer: No. There are no laws that regulate how much homework can be assigned. But many school districts have policies that set guidelines for homework based on grade level. A student or parent concerned about homework should ask the school principal if the school district has guidelines.

Homework isn't fun, but some people need it to fully understand the material. It can take a long time. However, if you understand what you're doing, it doesn't take that long (you also can't procrastinate). With projects, I'd recomend getting them done ASAP because otherwise you'll be up until 1 or 2 in the morning finishing them (I know, I've done it).

yes, that is definitly too much homework. i beleive in homework in small amounts. most of what teachers want us to do is busy work. they need to give us work that requires thinking and doesn't take all night.

I think that you are alittle wroung, but mostly right about that.I think that kids shouldn't have to do homework after they sit there in class and listen to the teacher talk.We should just do more stuff in class so us football players don't have to worry about the annoying teachers and gettting yelled at by our parents for not doing homework!!!!Thanks. After six hours of school you don't really want to have to do more school work, and you shouldn't have to. LAws should be made so that homework can not be given out unless the child is absent for more than a sertan number of days or if they are having problems with a subject. I always have my homework done but it means that i don't use other opportunity's because i just don't have and time. Something should be done about it! But no one listens to us because we are only children there should be a child who sits through some imporant issues that the goverment faces and give thier point of view f
